Accessibility.
We want this site to work for everyone who visits. Here is what it does, how we check it and where it falls short.

-
The goal.
We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. The site hasn't been audited against them, so we don't claim it fully meets them.
-
Less motion, if you ask for it.
If your device is set to reduce motion, the page no longer eases in as you scroll, the windows at the top hold still instead of turning toward the pointer, the colors behind them stop drifting, and no light sweeps across the windows.
-
Nothing moves for long.
Nothing on the site moves by itself for more than five seconds. The windows at the top come to rest a few seconds after you last point at them, tap them or reach them with the keyboard.
-
The keyboard.
Links and controls work from the keyboard, and the one in focus shows a clear ring. Each window at the top shows its note when it has focus, and Esc closes an open note.
-
The windows, in words.
The windows at the top are links named for the app they lead to, and each one's note is read after its name. The window in each app's section is decoration, so screen readers pass over it.
-
Contrast and zoom.
Text is checked for WCAG's AA contrast against the page colors behind it. The pages fit a window 320 pixels wide without scrolling sideways, which is how they look zoomed to 400 percent. Windows' high-contrast mode gets a page that works.
-
Without scripts.
With scripts turned off, the pages still read in full and their links work. The windows at the top hang still, without their notes.
-
How we check.
Before each deploy, a script checks each page in Microsoft Edge: headings and landmarks, names for images, links and controls, text contrast, targets at least 24 pixels square, a visible ring at each Tab stop, and no sideways scrolling at 320 pixels. A person checks what a script can't, such as whether a description is true, the reading order and the motion.
-
Where it falls short.
So far the site has been checked in Microsoft Edge on Windows, but not yet in Safari, on a phone or with a screen reader. This page covers this website, not the Starglade or TwinGlass apps.
